I'm proud to present you a overview of the first WCG 2004 playday in the following nominations: Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, Warcraft III: TFT and Unreal Tournamnet 2004, which is currently being held in San-Francisco, the USA! The overview of StarCraft: Brood War games will be presented by my collegue, fS.Overmind!
Counter-Strike: Condition Zero
Group А. Nobody doubt, that The Titans will make their way through this very group easily. And this prediction came truth, and Dutch powerhouse pushed overboard the following teams: Play.it and Sinners Silent Saviors.
Group B. Made in Brazil were the main favorites in this group, and I bet you've already guessed, they are in the next round - Team Q8 and Thirty-Three could do nothing against Brazilian grands.
Group C. Hm, it seems Koreans are getting more and more powerful in CS from day to day! Or how can you explain their superiority over Revival and AMD Cyber Team? Hehe, it's a joke, you know - the Korean team MaveN is the only one from this group, who was able to fly to the USA.
Group D. A very complicated situation in here! All the three team after end of their games had the same amount to points. Finally, after won/lost rounds count, CUM.at proceeds to the next stange and the rest places were taken by x6tence and Fucking Aim.
Group E. Didn't you know, that astralis can handle this group without any problems? Well, now you know! parallax and bTeXtreme are packing their bags.
Group F. Muddle with regulation in match Evil Geniuses against M19, and Turkish senstaion - these are the most important results of this group, teamquosh passes to the next tour!
Group G. Basically quite a weak group. FMJ Invictus hit the top1 and CCDP Arena in pair with Terminator go home.
Group H. Heh, any chances for Four Kings to do as well, as they did at the last WCG? Not in this life! SK Gaming goes to the Single Elimination stage.
Warcraft III: Frozen Throne
Group А. In this group the only two gamers, who proceeded to the Single Elimination were determined quite fast: DNAngel_indY and Bulgaria]420[3wD, who put in their assets 4 wins and 1 loss. janby, CESK_Venom, Santo and DVD[Lux] - unfortunately should fly to their native countries.
Group B.wkdsog_kr was able to beat everybody in his group - isn't it enough to prove his right to participate in the next stage of the tournament? The second place was taken by pGeTched. However, there were also players, who were not so lucky: pureball, viczhou_id, Ninjagmxamd and najes.
Group С. I don't want to comment this very group - all the players in the world had knew the winners even before the WCG began: [4K]Grubby amd Nw_Caf[pG]. The others should use thier retrn tickets.
Group D. And another Korean dominator! This time it was WelComeTo, who won 5 of 5 matches, and the second share, which allowed the owner to get into the SE tour, was taken by mouzHasuObz. Mr_Tutu, spermon_sk , Skyward and MoeDee could do nothing against these grands, so fair well!
Group Е.SKMadFroG was the main pretender to getting the first place with no losses, however it is WCG to change people's minds - he lost to levinati, and hit top1 even with one loss, the second place was for [64AMD]Crimson.
Group F. I'm tired of doing comments to groups without any sentations! [pg]shock and SK|FaTC, please take your passes to the next round!
Group G. fm_ranger did it - 5 wins in a row, MythCareFly finished second, and the rest places were for such players as dw_cat, FuDeS)FoDDeR and Sameni.
Group H. In the last group of this day, philbot_au walked through it and in pair with Lady will participate in the second stage of the WCG. frido__sk, Chobo and RockStar_pe are going home - good job anyway!
Unreal Tournament 2004
Group А.Lauke is still perfect! However, I suppose ForresT is not much worse - he placed second! And behind these obvious favorites were TeG_Ucs and MaveN_JY.
Group В. A little unexpectedness in this groups - Mad, whowas concidered as the leader, came last - Hypno and ViRtU celebrated their victories!
Group С. Сейчас хочу поздравить казахских болельщиков, ибо первое место в этой группе без единого поражения занял kz2030.Killer! aka Korshun. Вторая позиция осталась за автралийцем kore_au, а замкнули турнирную таблицу ostakon_my и YuriDante.
Group D. "I don't think Koreans are good at UT2004" - said Lexx1ch before the WCG, and was right! swat_jjang placed last and GiMiX in pair with muZZle took quota for paticipation in the Single Elimination round!
Group Е. Two Americans, two first places. Fimiliar? stryfe and infinite proceed to the next stage and write GG to their opponents: vovovoxxx and X3RoE_(sg).
Group F. After disqualification of spank the question about the gorup leader was removed from the agenda - astz took the first place easily and Blazer_tr came behind him.
Group G. Another little sensation: a New Zealander, eVenFloW, оwas able to beat legendary GitzZz and pushed him to the second place. As the result, Varagh is overboard in pair with Evil
Group H. The group, which disappointed me most of all: Navigator was simply kicked from the Single Elimination by Chip and Burning Death (who got their passes to this round). Fair well, Navi!
