What I said above in the heading is particularly correct, as life does not stop at all…
An ending to many gamers, is the beginning of much more for other gamers, Quake3 as it seems is just about dead in the “Professional” sense of things. It was taken out of the CPL long ago and now, WCG.
I am a Quake3 player, I have been playing the “Quake” series ever since Quake1 and I regard myself as one of the most loyal Quake supporters! I used to wake up each day and play Quake1 endlessly hour after hour with no end. It eventually died a sad and horrible death, with the awakening of Quake2.
I first found out about “LANS” from a very good friend who “taught” me how to play Quake1, showed me how to use a mouse and aim with it. From this, I grew and grew and it seriously became a passion of mine, in life to play games. Thank you Rhys.
Well, Quake2 did not take my fancy what so ever, as I must have put a maximum of 5hrs in it since it’s existence to the gaming scene. I won’t get started on what I don’t like about it :P~
Quake3, had a way better approach to a new era of Quake than Quake2 did, much better in my opinion.. I’ve been playing Quake3 for as long as it’s been out, some times slightly in active due to life carrying on and going by, but I stuck to it and enjoyed it where I could for as long as I could.
From breaking monitors in Quake1, to breaking mice in Quake3… despite that, what good times I’ve had, I’ve enjoyed thoroughly!! Only regret I have, is not taking it seriously when I really needed to, but we learn as we go along… closer to perfection… :o)
I won’t stop playing Quake1 and Quake3 for as long as I can play them, as enjoying it counts more than anything else, because if you’re not enjoying what you are doing, you won’t do it 100%.
I must say thank you to Dimonn for an excellent job regarding Cyberfights site, it’s always a pleasure to see what’s happening regarding gaming with Cyberfight. For those of you who don’t know me or know me too well, I am James Cloete, Ph4ntom.ZA’s older brother and we’re looking forward to the future of gaming. |
