q3tounrey4 is one of the most popular duel maps. At the time when there was thae possibility of shooting through floors the gameplay was slightly different – the skill of shooting through some floors with Rocket was the most important, and thus players’ positions on the level were equalized. Now the winner is the one with best Railgun aim, knowing how to make the enemy run through respawns and how to control the Megahealth. It’s also very important not to let the enemy get to the Railgun,a nd if you succeed in this, half of the game is done. Now about weapons’ priorities. First comes the Railgun, of course. If you’re perfect at handling it, you can really waste the enemy and make a lot of frags on respawns. The second weapon on q3tourney4 is the Plasmagun. But you have to aim very well and not to waste ammo. The third is the Rocket. But, like Plasma, it’s more likely to use defending something: whether the red armor or your own life. Concerning respawns: there are 9 of them, and it’s very important to know what actions to do from the first spawn, and what to do to rail the opponent correctly. In fact, respawns are located on the map the way one player would take the Megahealth from the start, and the other – the red armor.
There`s sometimes a very lucky respawn above at the Shotgun allowing you to take both devices at the same time and quickly kill the enemy.
Generally, the first spawn on q3tourney4 is very important as it influences strongly the further game – it`s very difficult sometimes to intercept the red armor control from the enemy, so learn how to act properly right from the first spawn...
Spawning below in the corner by the Rocket, listen carefully where the enemy spawned. If he’s right above you, don’t use the jumppad, but run below for the Plasma and the Megahealth. If you heard him spawning in the opposite side of the level above (no jumppad sound), better go for the Railgun and then the Megahealth. If the enemy spawned at the Rocket, better go to the Railgun, and then try to rail him at taking the Megahealth or on a jumppad. And the last variant, if the enemy spawned in the opposite side of the level below – you can take the red armor, then act according to the situation...
Respawn above in the corner by the Rocket. If the enemy spawned right above you, you can easily kill him on jumppad. If you heard him spawning in the opposite side of the level above, then try to get the red armor and hurt him at the maximum. If the enemy spawned at the Rocket, you can try to kill him at trying to do rocketjump. If the enemy spawned in the opposite side of the level below, go for the red armor and try to kill the enemy on jumppad or at taking the Megahealth.
Spawning at the Rocket, have a look around and if the enemy didn’t spawn above you in the corner, rocketjump to the red armor. If he’s above you, go forward under the red, then see according to the situation – whether rocketjump to the armor, or take the Megahealth.
Spawinig in the center of the map by the side of the Rocket is very unlucky as you can’t take any weapon quickly, and thus you risk to give an easy frag. At this respawn you must be very careful – is the enemy spawned in the opposite side of the level, then go for the Rocket and don’t let him take the Railgun. If the enemy respawned in the same part of the level as you, it’s necessary to get the Plasma and then the Megahealth.
Respawn at the Railgun is rather a good one. If the enemy spawned in the part of the level with the Megahealth, try to come from the Rocket side and not to let him to take the red, after that try to kill him on jumppads. If the enemy spawned in the part with the Rocket, take the Railgun, the Megahealth, than try to kill him at taking the red armor.
Respawning below in the corner by the Shotgun is rather lucky – it allows you to take the Megahealth right away. If the enemy appeared above you, then first take the Plasma, then act according to the situation. If the enemy spawned in the opposite side of the level then try to get the red armor, if you fail, go for the Megahealth.
Respawn above at the Shotgun (pic. 1) is the luckiest one at the start of the game allowing to take both the armor and Megahealth. If the enemy spawned in the corner right aboce you, try to shoot him on the jumppad. If he respawned at the Rocket and made rocketjump, take the Megahealth and then the Plasma.
Respawning at the Megahealth, take it, than head for the Railgun… If the enemy spawned below behind you, try to kill him on the jumppad. If he’s by the Rocket, take the Megahealth and go for the Plasma.
Respawning at the Plasma, take it and then the Megahealth...
Red armor is the most important on q3tourney4, so you must try to control it right from the start, and then simply come at time and get it. The best is not to let the enemy to get to the 3rd level to the plateau opposite the armor – you can do it whether with the Railgun or Rocket or Plasma. Below are shown examples how you can defend the armor and from where the opponent can attack (point at the picture and see the description):
If the enemy has already taken the position at the armor, it’s the most effective to knock him out there using the Plasma. In the case if he’s got the total control over the red armor, use only the Railgun – the other weapons aren’t as effective. Below are shown the points which are the best to break to the red:
With the help of these tricks you can successfully attack and defend the red armor. If you managed to take control over it, now all you have to do is to kill the enemy on respawns. The Railgun is the best tool for this purpose. It’s important to keep in mind that enemy’s respawns alternate in different parts of the map, so there’s no sense in aiming on respawn if the enemy spawned there last time, but there’s a big probability of him appearing on the symmetrical respawn. Below are shown the points where to aim for after the enemy’s death if you’re on the 3rd level on the plateau opposite to the red armor. Don’t forget about respawns’ regularity and try to alternate these points correctly:
Next are shown the points to aim for if you’re on the 3rd level, but not in the center, but by one of its sides:
Also you must remember some points to aim for is you’re on the 2nd or 1st level. The points are identical so here are some examples from different levels:
It’s very important to control the Railgun. If you are in the lower part of the level knowing the enemy is heading for the Railgun, then you can rail him on a jumppad or wound him with a rocket.
