(1) Download the latest version of mIRC from it's official website - on the moment of writing this guide
such version was 6.01.
(2) Install the program. It's very advisable that the path to the program's folder won't
have any spaces in it. For example, it's not recommended to install mIRC in a folder like
C:/Program files/mIRC. Placing mIRC in C:/mIRC would be the best option.
(3) Load mIRC. A window with the first time settings appears.
(4) Select QuakeNet in the drop-down menu of IRC Servers.
Then, enter your info. You have to fill the Nickname and Alternative (your second
nick in case the first one is taken) fields.
(5) Switch to the Options sub-menu which is under Connect.
Tick/untick options as shown on the picture. Click OK.
(6) The most important settings are set - it is time to connect to the server.
Press the top left button on the toolbar or select Connect in the File menu.
(7) Follow the process in the Status window.
After the successful connection a window called mIRC Channels Folder should pop-up - you
don't really need it, so untick and close it.
(8) All you have to do now is to type /join #c58 at the bottom of Status
window.
(9) In the #c58 channel it's always possible to follow the live coverage from
major events and be up to date with the team's happenings.
